Air sealing and sanitation included with insulation service.FOR MIAMI HOMES
Old insulation is not automatically a problem, but material that is damaged, deteriorated or unsuited to the next system can hold an upgrade back. For Miami homes we inspect the attic first, explain what we find and only recommend removal where it makes sense for the work you want done.
The full insulation removal guideInsulation affected by past leaks, earlier repairs or age may no longer be a sound base for new coverage.
Moving to a different approach, such as foam at the roof deck, can call for different preparation than adding to the attic floor.
Once a roof or other repair has been handled by the right trade, removal can give the replacement insulation a clean start.

WHEN TO CONSIDER IT
Removal is worth discussing when existing insulation has been damaged, disturbed by repairs or no longer suits the system you plan to install. If you know of a roof leak, pests or earlier work in the attic, tell us before the inspection. Taking insulation out does not fix those causes, so they should be handled by the appropriate repair before new material goes in.
YOUR PROJECT, STEP BY STEP
We look at the type and condition of the existing insulation and tell you what we would remove, what could stay and why.
The method depends on the material and the route through your home. We confirm how access areas are protected and how the old material is handled before the visit.
With the attic cleared, air sealing and sanitation can be addressed and the new insulation planned. Our free air sealing and sanitation apply when the project includes insulation service.
THE QUESTIONS THAT MATTER
Condition matters more than age. Material that has only been moved can sometimes be leveled and added to, while insulation that is damaged or unsuited to the planned system may need to come out. We explain the options after the inspection.
Tell us your roofing schedule. Known leaks should be repaired by the appropriate trade, and the insulation plan sequenced so new material is not installed under an unresolved problem.
It depends on the attic. Blown-in coverage on the attic floor and spray foam at the roof deck are both options we discuss, and the right one depends on how the space is built and used.
Ask for the estimate to show removal and replacement as separate items so you can see each part. Our free air sealing and sanitation apply with insulation service, so a removal-only request and a removal-and-replacement project are not the same comparison.
