Batt insulation is pre-cut to fit between the framing in walls, floors and ceilings. In Miami it usually comes up during a remodel or addition, when the cavities are exposed. Timing matters: the conversation should start before the next trade closes the space.
The full batt insulation guideKitchen, bedroom or whole-floor renovations that open wall or ceiling cavities are a natural moment to insulate.
Batts fit best where cavities are evenly spaced; pipes, wiring and unusual framing call for careful fitting details.
A good installation can help slow heat transfer and reduce sound between rooms, as one part of the wider assembly.

WHEN TO CONSIDER IT
The best time to talk about batts is while the renovation schedule is still being set. Tell us which finishes are coming off, who is coordinating the work and when the space is due to close. If your home shares walls with a neighbor or sits in a building with shared areas, mention it so the plan matches what can be reached.
YOUR PROJECT, STEP BY STEP
We look at the exposed cavities and agree the areas included, along with the finishes that stay in place.
We recommend a batt that suits the framing depth and explain how air sealing is handled around it.
Batts are fitted in the agreed areas ahead of the finishing trade, so the coverage can be seen and checked while it is still exposed.
THE QUESTIONS THAT MATTER
Both can be considered while the framing is exposed. Batts suit regular cavities, while spray foam follows irregular shapes and can address air movement in the same application. We compare them against your framing, schedule and budget.
Before the walls close, ideally while the schedule is being set. That leaves time for an inspection, an estimate and installation between rough-in work and drywall.
They can be one part of a sound-control assembly, but insulation alone does not make a room soundproof. Tell us if noise is a goal so the proposal is discussed with that in mind.
The estimate should list the areas it includes. Tell us which rooms or surfaces are part of the project and we can discuss the scope that makes sense for them.
